Abstract
The article is dedicated to a new stage in the study of glaucoma. It describes clinical signs of hypothalamic hypertension. It refers to the biographical data of Professor G.Y. Chernyavsky, head of the glaucoma department (1962-1980) of the Helmholtz Moscow Research Institute of Eye Diseases. His role in the organization of a new scientific school is demonstrated.
